Congratulation on your new puppy! You and your new friend are going to have lots of fun times; along with those fun times comes lots of responsibility. Puppies, like human babies, don’t come with instructions; they need your love, attention and guidance to grow into a good mannered companion. Unlike our human babies, puppies have their own language and set of rules; they are not the same as ours.
Things like jumping up on you, chewing your belongings, digging up your yard are normal dog behaviors. They will need to be taught your rules in a positive reinforcement manner in order to build a mutual trust and respect between you and your puppy. It will take a great deal of work to raise your puppy into a desirable adult dog who can be involved in your family life. Learning is a lifelong process. The first place to start is to enroll your new puppy in Puppy Kindergarten.
